An exercise to connect the left and the right parts of your brain

If you are mentally tired or exhausted this exercise will help you “reboot” your brain.

1. Lie on your back with your legs straight and your arms alongside your body (Savasana).
2. Bend you right leg and pull the knee towards your chest and at the same time lift your left arm and put it straight behind your head.
3. Put both your right leg and your left arm back into the original position.
4. Now bend your left leg, pull it towards your torso and at the same time lift your right arm up and put the straight arm behind your head.
Return to the Savasana position.

Repeat at least 5 times.

I’ve also seen a version of this exercise where you stand straight and lift your left arm while raising your right knee to your chest (and vise versa).

We use a version of this in our adult education program where you lift the left leg and touch it with the right elbow and vice versa. It’s from a program of such exercises called Brainology. There are many others. Check it out!

Brain Gym. Not Brainology. Hope you figured that out by now if you looked it up. Oops!
